About the Chef: Christi Rice

Food Happens Personal Chef Service is owned and operated by Christi Rice. Christi has a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University , is a premier member of the United States Personal Chef Association, and has a degree from The Culinary Business Academy. She is a self-proclaimed “foodie” that has always enjoyed experimenting with cooking. From helping her mom and grandmother in the kitchen in her younger years, to experimenting with whatever she could afford in college. She can always remember feeling at home in the kitchen. Christi explains by saying, “It doesn't matter whether I am happy or sad, anxious or angry. I realized at an early age that all of my emotions come out in the kitchen. Every emotion that I can and do feel send me to the kitchen with the idea of creating something wonderfully tasty. This is my therapy.” Christi always knew that cooking was her special outlet and the kitchen was her sanctuary.

With a background in biology she also has a great interest in trying to improve nutrition in the family home. She says, “Too many families come home to pre-packaged, preservative packed food or calorie-rich, fatty take-out. I hope to improve what people are putting in their bodies.” With this in mind, Christi decided that her business would cater to those with special dietary needs as well as to the modern family who is just looking for healthier alternatives. One of the things she loves to stress is, “healthy food does not have to be boring and tasteless. All food should be enjoyed no matter what your dietary restrictions entail.” Food Happens Personal Chef Service pushes fresh ingredients, loads of taste, and variety. With these things working together, Christi hopes that she can help everyone enjoy food again and without any guilt.

Christi has a down to earth attitude with a sense of humor. She provides fabulous service with a smile and never compromises professionalism.  Christi is extremely enthusiastic and has a great passion for food and cooking.  Christi's passion, combined with her thirst for imparting and receiving knowledge, makes her a great asset in any home.
